Jumps over to the competitor | Finansavisen

--

In November last year, it became known that Cathrine Kristiseter Marti is leaving as head of the Ulstein Group after accepting “a new opportunity” outside the family-owned shipyard group.

It is now clear that the new opportunity is the boss job at competitor Vard.

There, she takes over from CEO Alberto Maestrini, who has been in the chair since 2020.

– After some difficult years, the Vard group has finally reached a healthy business position. Now I am very happy to be able to give the helm to Cathrine for the next phase of the journey, which I am sure will provide an even brighter future for Vard and Fincantieri, says outgoing CEO Alberto Maestrini in a press release from Vard.

Kristiseter Marti has 25 years behind her in the maritime industry, and Fincantieri-owned Vard emphasizes her strong connection to Norwegian business and solid international shipbuilding experience.

“The appointment of a new CEO is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen Vard as the leading player in its market and a central business pillar in the Fincantieri group,” writes Vard in the press release.

– I am confident that – together with the competent and committed colleagues at Vard – we will continue to grow as a reliable player in the shipyard industry and create long-term value for the shareholders, says Kristiseter Marti in the message.
