On March 15, Kelly Allen from Swansea in Wales visited her friend to talk and have a few drinks.
She sensed peace and no danger when their family dog attacked her without warning, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The dog lunged at her face, biting off a large part of her cheek on the left side.

The sausage dog refused to let go of her cheek until it had taken a solid bite of meat.

Allen was left shocked, with an open flesh wound on his face, watching the dog eat what it got.
The 45-year-old was taken straight to hospital after the attack. There, she was operated on for five and a half hours, underwent a skin transplant and had to sew over 40 stitches.
The sausage dog, which was a dachshund, was later taken from the friend’s house and euthanized, writes the Manchester Evening News.

Allen is now seeking compensation after learning that the dog had allegedly attacked two people, but it may take several years before she receives the sum she is demanding.
– Ruined my life
The incident still haunts Allen, who keeps waking up at night, crying.
She explains that she does not want to return to work for the travel company Tui, because of the traumatic event, and her physical appearance.
– I can’t get out of bed some days, and I cry myself to sleep because I feel his teeth in me. I’m left with a hideous scar on my face. It has ruined my life, because it will never be the same, she says, to PA Real Life.
New theory: Points to wolves
Allen says that her self-esteem has been destroyed after the attack, and that she hardly goes out in public anymore.
– I don’t want to go back to work. I feel like I can’t meet people, she says.
4000 a month
She receives £350 a month in sick pay for the incident, which is not enough to cover bills and living costs for her and her sons, who are 18 and 19 years old.

Allen receives help from his family physically and financially, and especially thanks his sister Stacey (43), who has organized a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe.
