The unusual love story is unfolded in the Swedish “Love is blind” on Netflix.
Because while other reality couples have since chosen to go their separate ways, Oskar and Meira ended up saying yes to each other during the TV wedding.
Now – one year later – the couple are still just as in love. And they will marry again – this time with more traditional settings and a large number of friends and relatives on the guest list.
– This is something Oskar and I already talked about last year, says Meira to Expressen.
They announced the news on social media a week ago, but now they are revealing more details.
– We both have very large families. And lots of friends. We have both always had a dream of a big party, and to do it in the way we are used to, she explains.
When “Love is blind” aired in January, eight months had actually passed since the TV taping and the wedding.
– On 2 May, we have been married for a year, and therefore we feel that it is appropriate to be able to do it in May, says Meira about the upcoming wedding.
She reveals that they repeat their wedding vows at the very end of May, and that things are therefore moving quite quickly.
– We have a bit of a panic, she jokingly tells the newspaper – and explains that they have been on a three-week holiday in Thailand, and therefore haven’t been able to arrange much.
But now a series of meetings have been arranged to get everything sorted.
– We are running at full speed.
The TV couple plans to invite up to 130 guests. Although it will be a “typical Swedish wedding”, Meira has decided that food from her original homeland, Afghanistan, will be served.
Meira, also known as an influencer, dancer and singer, says that they are going for the best of both worlds. The Swedish archipelago is also an important ingredient, she confides.
When asked if any of the other participants from “Love is blind” will be invited, Meira replies that it is “of course”.
The self-described guest is Catja Lövstrand (32), who herself did not find the tone with the man she got engaged to unseen on TV. However, she later became a lover with one of the other men who participated, Adde Tzelidis (33).
