On 6 June 2024, the Breeam prize will be awarded for the first time in Norway. The award goes to property developers and building owners who have invested in sustainability and document it through certification.
After an open nomination round, the jury has now selected finalists in two categories: New construction and rehabilitation.
– For the prices, we look for extra innovative and cost-effective measures and whether the project appears as a role model for others or has sustainability measures beyond the usual. We have received many excellent candidates, and it has been a difficult job to choose the best three. In the end, it is small margins that decide, says jury leader Viel Sørensen, day-to-day certification manager at Green Building Alliance, in a press release.
The nominees in the new build category:
The office building Hello in Trondheim (House of Architects)
The office building Track X in Drammen (Dark architects)
The industrial building The Plus at Magnor (BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group)
The nominees in the rehabilitation category:
Bergen Town Hall (Originally Erling Viksjø, rehabilitated by Henning Larsen (former Rambøll Norway))
The municipal farm in Sandvika (Originally Narud Stokke Wiig architects, rehabilitated by Pilot architects and Signal architects)
Stortorvet 7 in Oslo, (Originally Frithjof Stoud Platou, rehabilitated by Dark architects)
The winners will be announced during a gala dinner on 6 June at The Hub in Oslo.
