On Wednesday evening, the Eastern Police District announced that a seven-year-old boy had been reported missing from an address in Gressvik, Fredrikstad.

The police then reported that life-saving first aid had been carried out following the discovery of a lifeless person in the water in Fredrikstad.

– Divers have discovered a person in the water in the area of ​​Gressvik. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is underway at the scene, and preparations are being made for an air ambulance, operations manager Lisbeth Mjøsund in the East police district told Dagbladet.

At around 10.20pm, the police confirmed that it is the 7-year-old who was reported missing earlier this evening.

– The missing boy has been found. He was found by rescue divers underwater and life-saving first aid is ongoing. He is now being flown to hospital, the police write.

It was a random passer-by who reported sightings of the boy at 9.15pm.

– Our focus now is safeguarding the family, as well as crews that have been involved, writes East Police District.

The seven-year-old is now receiving treatment at Rikshospitalet in Oslo. His state of health is unknown on Thursday morning.
