British police confirm that a 13-year-old died after the attack. Both police officers and civilians are among the injured.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested by British police after the serious incident at Hainault in east London on Tuesday morning.

The police were first notified at 7 o’clock local time. The messages were then about a car that had crashed into a house and stabbings.

– Police and other emergency services are at Hainault in east London at a serious incident where a man with a sword has been arrested, the Metropolitan Police said in a press release.

The suspect allegedly attacked civilians and two police officers, according to the police.

At 14:00 on Tuesday Norwegian time, the police in London confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has died after the attack.

The condition of the other injured is not known.

Messages about samurai swords

Just before 10.30 Norwegian time, several British reports reported that the attack must have been carried out with a sword. The police in London confirmed on X/Twitter the incident and an arrest soon after.

The newspaper The Telegraph writes that four people are injured. A witness told the newspaper that they saw a man running around with a samurai sword that he attacked four people with.

The incident is said to have happened at the Hainault metro station. The station and several roads in the area have been closed by the police.

The police have emphasized that they do not believe that the attack poses an ongoing threat to the public.

– The incident does not appear to be terror-related.
