– Everyone should open and check the tax return. If you do not check her, the Tax Agency uses the information that is already there. This could mean that you risk paying too much tax, for example if you have not entered a deduction to which you are entitled, or that we are using the wrong information, says Divisional Director Marta Johanne Gjengedal at the Swedish Tax Agency in a press release.
Gjengedal also encourages people to check that the information on assets, housing and loans is correct. Last year, the statistics showed that there are more people who have something to gain from checking their tax return carefully. After the tax return was submitted, more people received money and fewer received back taxes, compared to the amount before they went in and checked.
