– Get out of your bunker – Dagsavisen

--

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is not taking kindly to independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., popularly called RFK Jr. after their initials.

– RFK Jr. is a radical left-wing liberal who is there to help Joe Biden – the worst president in US history – get re-elected, ex-President Trump recently thundered on his own platform Truth Social.

Among other things, he added that a vote for RFK Jr. in practice will be “a wasted protest vote”.

Will meet Trump “mano-a-mano”

Now Trump gets an answer to the indictment. RFK Jr. thinks it seems as if Trump has “gotten off the hinges” when he comes up with such plans.

– Trump’s statements against me are a wave of wild and inaccurate claims, he says, according to The Hill.

Kennedy Jr. calls on the ex-president to meet him in a debate man against man “in good, American tradition”.

– Instead of throwing poisonous bombs from his bunker, he can rather come out and defend himself “mano-a-mano” – in a respectful and pleasant debate, says RFK Jr.

If there were an election today, RFK Jr. according to The Hill, have received a support of 7.7 percentage points in the battle against Biden and Trump.

Biden and Trump’s fear

Professor and US expert Hilmar Mjelde has previously explained the role of Kennedy Jr. can play in this year’s presidential election.

– Both incumbent President Biden and Donald Trump are now targeting Kennedy Jr. It shows that both fear they may lose decisive votes to him, Mjelde recently told Dagsavisen.

He described RFK Jr. as a moment of unrest that both Republicans and Democrats fear.

– So-called third candidates take votes from the candidate they are politically closest to. But RFK Jr. is a difficult case, because he is an ex-democrat who speaks like a republican, Mjelde pointed out.

Calling Kennedy Jr. dangerous for the United States

RFK Jr. is running as an independent candidate after failing to be nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate. The 70-year-old comes from America’s best-known political dynasty. His uncle was President John F. Kennedy, who was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963.

RFK Jr. father Robert, popularly called Bobby, was a senator and tried to be nominated for the Democratic presidential nomination. Like his brother JFK, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed. It happened in June 1968, while he was fighting for the Democratic nomination for the presidential election that year.

But the 70-year-old Kennedy Jr. has not received the family support one might imagine in the dream of becoming American president. Large sections of the Kennedy family, on the contrary, have come out hard against him. Kennedy Jr. has built up as an activist, writer and lawyer who has fought for environmental issues such as clean water, but lately, however, activism has gone in the direction of conspiracy theories and fighting scientific truths, especially about vaccines, according to NTB.

This fall, four of his siblings issued a statement condemning his candidacy and lamenting his decision to pursue the Oval Office.

– The decision of our brother to stand as a candidate for a third party against Joe Biden is dangerous for the country. It may be that he has the same name as our father, but he does not share the values, vision or judgement, the statement said, according to NTB.

Recently, sister Kerry Kennedy stated that her brother “could only dream” of becoming president.
