A person has been found dead in a river in Skien.

On Monday, a 35-year-old man was reported missing in Skien municipality. Voluntary organizations launched a search, and the police have wanted the man nationally.
On Thursday evening, a person was found dead in a river at Skotfoss in Skien.
– The person has not been identified, but we see the find in connection with the search for the man who has been reported missing, says police inspector Odd Skei Kostveit in a press release.
Kostveit adds that it is too early to say what has happened to the dead person. The person will be sent for an autopsy.
The next of kin of the missing man have been notified of the discovery, the police say.
On Saturday, the missing person is said to have left an address in the district of Skotfoss.
– There have been some incidents outside Skotfoss that we are unsure whether they can be linked to the person who is missing. The last observation was on Saturday at 17:30, and the police were on the scene at around 17:50, Annie Sandersen told VG on Thursday morning. She is head of the investigation and intelligence section in Grenland.
The police have received several reports, including that there must have been a stabbing and about the observation of a bloody person.
– Part of the police investigation is to investigate whether there has been a stabbing, said Sandersen.
No one has been charged or suspected in the case.
The police want specific tips from people who were at the Coop in Skotfoss between 5.30pm and 6pm on Saturday.
On Wednesday, operations manager Roger Aaser said that the police had been to a number of addresses in connection with the case.
