On Tuesday morning, the police received a report of an injured woman at Boots pharmacy in the center of Arendal. Large parts of the city center were cordoned off and the police appealed for witnesses.
Life-saving first aid was attempted, but life could not be saved.
Afterwards, the police have started a murder investigation, and are looking for an unknown perpetrator.
The murdered woman worked at Boots’ pharmacy. When VG is on site, there is a note on the door stating that they are temporarily closed. The windows facing the shop are covered.
The pharmacy is located in an apartment building from the 19th century. Outside there are bouquets of roses and pots with tea lights.
The police, who have raised the alert as a result of the murder, are on alert in the surrounding area.
– Very sad

– We are regular customers at the pharmacy and know everyone who works there. I just think it’s very sad. I no longer feel so safe when you are at work alone. Hopefully they will find out what happened, Tellefsen told VG.
Ubeas was on his way to work, and was met by a large police contingent.
– At first I thought it was just an accident, but then I read that it was a murder case. It’s scary to hear, he says.
Uncomfortable being alone
Tellefsen lives in the center of Arendal. She was at work on Wednesday morning – a stone’s throw away from the crime scene.
– I also live in the city centre, so that makes it worse. We are normally alone at work. It was very disgusting to be alone today. Everything becomes extra scary when there is a murder, says a clearly affected Tellefsen.
The 20-year-old was told who the woman is by his sister, who knew the deceased.
– She knew my sister very well. I got a lump in my throat when she called. It is extremely uncomfortable, she says.
They only have good words about the woman. She is described as a pleasant person who always had a good mood.
– She was very pleasant, and always stood with a smile when you came by. I only have positive things to say about her. We always chatted every time I stopped by, says Ubeas.
