Saved historic point with dream scoring

YMCA Oslo played its first ever elite league match on Tuesday. It ended with 1–1 and a division of points against HamKam after a late goal by the Oslo team’s Petter Nosa Dahl.

When the ball went into the goal, it completely took off in the stands and in the commentator’s box for NRK.

– What a magnificent goal. The ball is glued to the metal. It cannot be done better, exclaimed commentator Olav Traaen.

Dahl stuck the ball in the crossbar in the last regular minute of play after a violent rush towards the HamKam cage.

– I think we controlled the entire second half, says Dahl, who came to YMCA from Glimt before the season.

He thinks it was great to score the historic goal – which he describes as the “finest of his career”.

– It means a lot, at least when the family is here watching, he says to NRK.

Although it was the hosts who were the most dangerous going forward towards the end of the match, it was HamKam who opened the best. The visitors’ Moses Mawa tipped the ball elegantly over Emil Ødegaard after just ten minutes.

KFUM Oslo, often referred to as Kåffa, surprised everyone when, 140 days ago, they moved up to the top level in Norwegian division football. The “small” club from Ekeberg is the only one from Oslo in this year’s elite series.

The match was played at Vålerenga’s stadium, and 4,018 spectators made the trip to see YMCA’s first match at the top level.
