MELLØS STADION (Dagsavisen): Because when Bo Hegland ended the match’s best attack with a shot in the corner, the hope of Lightning points in the opening game was gone.

And of course it pleased the 19-year-old who scored his first goal for his new club, Moss, which he joined and made his debut for last autumn.

Growing up at Majorstua

– Yes, I spent my entire football upbringing in Frigg, and then it is something special to score against Lyn. It is the most important club for me to score against, says Bo Åsulv Hegland to Dagsavisen after he has had to tell about the goal and career both to TV2 and the local newspaper in Moss.

But that career is not so much more extensive that it was in Frigg for a long time before he got an exotic stay in Serie A club Lecce in Italy.

When he got home from there, he was intercepted by Moss, who needed a new goalscorer.

But Tørteberg at Majorstua was his football-related playground as a child and youth.

Got the whole schooling

Right now, Moss is the series leader, because no team scored more than them in the series premiere.

– What has Frigg meant to you in terms of football?

– Everything. That’s where I learned everything about football after I started there as a 9-year-old. A fantastic club with a very good environment. And from there I got the chance to try my hand in Italy, says Hegland to Dagsavisen.

In Thomas Myhre’s Mosselag, he is a pure striker, and the team was ultimately superior in the match against Lyn.

– When the 2-0 score came I realized that the game was lost for us. A great score by a team that was better than us, admits Lyn coach Jan-Halvor Halvorsen to Dagsavisen.

The art of taking it to the next level

Hegland showed his smart movements and his finish was the best of the match. He got the second he needed to aim, and then the ball was glued up in the corner behind Lyn goalkeeper Alexander Pedersen.

Hegland follows how Frigg is doing, they were the highest scoring team in their division in the 3rd division last year, but missed promotion. They are trying again this year.

For Hegland, this season is about coping with the level in the OBOS league after he came to Moss last autumn. Higher tempo and tougher duels he learned a lot from in Italy.

– It’s about taking steps, and I’m still young in this game. A win over Lyn was the best start I could get, he concludes.
