MANCHESTER UNITED – BURNLEY 1-1:

Manchester United struggled to make a dent in Saturday’s game against Burnley, but with ten minutes left to play, Sander Berge gave the home team a gift.

He sent the ball straight into the legs of Antony, and the heavily criticized Brazilian sent the home team into the lead.

However, the joy was not to last long for Manchester United. A few minutes later, Burnley were awarded a penalty after Onana was far too late when he should have boxed the ball away. Instead, he ended up almost knocking out Zeki Amdouni.

After a VAR check, Burnley were awarded a penalty, and it surely put Amdouni in the goal. Thus it ended 1-1 between Manchester United and Burnley.

Onana heard it after he scored a penalty.

– Onana is not close, not even a little bit, said the BBC’s expert Shay Given.

– Gigantic

It was a fast-paced opening to the match, with Manchester United controlling most of the game at the start.

The home team eventually had several good opportunities, and in the 19th minute Bruno Fernandes came awfully close to sending United into the lead. However, the Portuguese did not have the margins on his side and his shot hit the post.

Burnley became more involved in the game later in the half, and André Onana was put to the test several times. He passed those tests with flying colors, especially when he made a wild reaction save on a header from Lyle Foster.

– That is one of the best saves of the year, said Viaplay commentator Eivind Bisgaard Sundet.

– Gigantic. Phenomenal done by Onana, said expert Lars Tjærnås.

A few minutes later, Onana saved United again, when Foster came alone with the goalkeeper after being beautifully played through by Sander Berge.

Just before the break, Alejandro Garnacho also had a good chance for United, but his shot hit the net. As a result, the teams went to the break without a net rush either way.

Manchester United also controlled the game in the second half, but Burnley came up with some good opportunities on the counter.

Dramatic ending

Antony came very close to sending United into the lead in the 50th minute, but he couldn’t get his feet moving and ended up firing straight at Muric in the Burnley goal.

Antony and Garnacho were dangerous going forward a few minutes later as well, but the ball would not hit the goal.

However, Manchester United were to be rewarded for their efforts in the end, and it happened after an ugly mistake by Berge. The Norwegian sent the ball straight into the legs of Antony, and the Brazilian came alone with the goalkeeper.

Berge almost managed to catch him, but he was just too late. Antony rolled the ball into the far corner.

However, the joy did not last long for United. The home team were messing it up in their own defence, and they were unable to clear the ball properly and then Onana got involved.

He tried to box the ball away, but he instead ended up almost knocking down Zeki Amdouni. After a VAR check, Burnley were awarded a penalty.

It put Amdouni himself safely in the goal, and the teams were the same distance. It eventually ended 1–1 at Old Trafford.
