– I sat at home and ate pizza, and got ready to go to Askøy-Brann. Then it just fell off, says Benedikte Guleng.

She talks about the logo on the new Brann suit she has bought.

BA is aware that several players have had the same problem, including Aune Heggebø. After the Odd game last weekend, the logo of “half past eight” hung on his suit.

– The finest fell off

Benedikte Guleng has received the Brann enthusiasm with a teaspoon. She and her father both collect kits, he from both Tottenham and Brann.

– He is the big collector, but I also have some of the older Brann suits.

She also has the latest ones, but rarely uses them. Neither she nor her father have experienced problems with the suits, which they usually buy directly from the Brann store.

This year’s suit is both loved and reviled. Benedikte is not a big fan of the pattern on the front, but still had to have it in the collection. She received the suit on Tuesday, and thought the cup match against Askøy the following day was a perfect time to inaugurate it. But it didn’t take more than two hours with the suit on, before the Brann logo fell off.

– Brann is known for having a “clean” suit. Simple design. So when the best part of this year’s suit falls off, then I have to do something, she says.

She has not yet made contact with Brann, but the club promises that the problem will be fixed when they hear from her.

New type of pressure is to blame

The reason why both Benedikte and several players have experienced the logo falling off is probably due to a technique that has been tested this year. This year, Brann has used a silicone print for the club logo, but the process to get the brand to sit well is more demanding than usual. This is explained by Brann’s head of market communication and sustainability, Therese Rygg.

– We wanted to test it this year. It means that the logo somehow stands out more from the suit, she says.

She has seen a few cases where it has fallen off, and explains that it must be because the printing process has not been thorough enough. To get the silicone mark to sit, it usually takes three rounds of printing.

– We don’t see it as a problem now, but if this happens to more people, I encourage them to contact us. Then they will get a new suit, says Rygg.

Benedikte’s suit has been signed by the entire team, and Rygg promises to help collect the autographs on a new suit when she gets in touch.

– Since the printing process is more demanding, such cases may occur. But the way it looks now, it’s rare. And if we hear enough complaints, we probably won’t consider using this again next year, explains the fire chief.
