--

He announced this live on TV 2 on the drive to Fredrikstad – Bodø/Glimt on Monday afternoon.

Elyounoussi made a name for himself in 60 international matches and has played for, among others, Fredrikstad, Heerenveen, RBK, Hoffenheim and Olympiakos.

He was presented as an RBK player in August 2012, but was sold to German Hoffenheim in June of the following year. Elyounoussi was last in Japanese Shonan Bellmare, but there the contract expired in February.

– I have felt privileged to have been able to hold on for so many years. I could probably have pushed more, but I met old players where some walked with crutches and others limped. It’s nice to quit when you want to, he says to TV 2.
