Rynning-Tønnesen recently stepped down as head of Statkraft after 14 years, and now it is clear what he will do next.

He will become head of ICP Infrastructure, the one investment arm of Aker’s investment company Industry Capital Partners (ICP), which is led by former Oljefondet CEO Yngve Slyngstad.

ICP Infrastructure invests in large-scale infrastructure for energy transition, from renewable energy production to industrial decarbonisation.

– I am highly motivated to find industrial solutions that can help reduce the impact of climate change, while also providing an attractive return for our investors, says Rynning-Tønnesen in a statement.

Aker CEO Øyvind Eriksen says Rynning-Tønnesen has the knowledge, practical experience, network and history that ÌCP needs.

– By combining Aker’s industrial resources, Slyngstad’s position in international capital markets and Rynning-Tønnesen’s expertise in renewable energy, ICP is uniquely positioned to combine an attractive investment offer for institutional investors with helping to tackle climate challenges, says Eriksen in a statement.

Slyngstad says that ICP looks forward to welcoming Rynning-Tønnesen.

– As CEO of Statkraft, Rynning-Tønnesen was central to creating significant value for the company and for society at large by developing, building and operating renewable energy projects both in Norway and internationally.

The other investment arm, ICP Asset Management, is led by former Oljefondet top Petter Johnsen.

Rynning-Tønnesen will take over the position on 19 August this year.
