Possible drowning accident on Sandestranden – has found a person in the sea

On Friday at 18.07, the police were notified of a possible drowning accident on Sandestranden in Randaberg municipality.

LAST: Divers from the fire service have found the man in the sea (under water). Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is underway, the police reported at 19.17.

Witnesses at the scene previously reported that the air ambulance landed on the beach at 18.40. Both the police and the fire brigade are on site, with boats brought along.

At 18.45, the police announced that a search was underway for a man in the sea.

– The first message we received was that people on the beach had seen a man on a bathing suit or a board. Suddenly the person fell off and disappeared into the sea, said duty officer Svein Nesse in Rogaland fire and rescue at 6.30 pm.

The fire brigade is on site with boats, divers and surface searchers. The main rescue center is there by helicopter.
