Stig Arild Slørdahl resigns at his own request from his position as managing director of Helse Midt-Norge RHF from 1 August 2024.
– A senior manager should not sit for too long and in August I have been manager of Helse Midt-Norge for nine years. Then it’s a good idea to step down. Both the organization and I benefit from changes taking place in top management after such a long period, says Slørdahl.
About a year ago, Slørdahl spoke with chairman Odd Inge Mjøen about the fact that the time was soon ripe to let someone else take over what he characterizes as the most exciting and rewarding job in central Norway.
– Inspiring and demanding time
– The time as managing director has been inspiring and demanding, and I have never regretted accepting the job. We have an incredible number of highly competent and committed employees who are passionate about delivering an outstanding health service to the population. I have greatly appreciated the cooperation with the political leadership and the ministry, the board, the users, shop stewards and employees both at RHFet and out in the health institutions, in addition to the management in the other regions and municipalities.
Slørdahl has been chief executive of the health region since 2015 and has led the health region through a pandemic and a number of major changes. New hospital at Hjelset (SNR) in Møre og Romsdal, new security building at Østmarka, new financial and logistics system, common warehouse for the region and introduction of the Health Platform are some of the changes carried out to strengthen the health service in Central Norway with Slørdahl at the helm .
– Outstanding effort
– There is no drama in the fact that I am resigning now. I will stay until the summer so that we get off to a good start with the recruitment of a new top manager, concludes Slørdahl.
Chairman of Helse Midt-Norge RHF, Odd Inge Mjøen, says Slørdahl has led Helse Midt-Norge with a steady hand.
– Stig has made an outstanding effort for the specialist health service both locally, regionally and nationally. He has led the work to ensure that the region has an outstanding health service for the population.
