Four people to hospital after a traffic accident in Stange

Four people have been sent to hospital after a traffic accident involving two cars in Stange on Wednesday evening. Three of those involved have been assessed as possibly seriously injured.

Operations manager Per Solberg in the Innlandet police district emphasizes, however, that the extent of the damage has not yet been formally determined.

– But three of the people involved have currently been assessed for possible serious damage, he says to NTB.

The police believe the driver of one car has breached the duty to yield and has therefore seized the driver’s license of an elderly woman, Solberg further informs.

There must have been three people in one car and one person in the other car, according to Solberg.

The police first reported the incident at 10:24 p.m.

The US says it has shot down rockets and drones from the Houthis

The US-led coalition in the Red Sea has shot down a missile and four drones used by the Houthis in Yemen to attack ships in the region, the US defense says.

A little before 9 o’clock local time, a ship from the coalition shot down a rocket fired from a Houthi-controlled area in Yemen, states the US regional defense command Centcom.

They say the target of the rocket was probably the US-registered container ship Maersk Yorktown. No injuries or property damage have been reported in connection with the incident.

The Houthis say they attacked three ships. In addition to the Yorktown, a US Navy vessel and what they describe as the Israeli container ship MSC Veracruz were targets of the attack. The latter is registered in Portugal and was on the night of Thursday off the coast of Somalia, on its way to the United Arab Emirates.

Since November, the Houthis have carried out a series of attacks against ships in the Red Sea. They say they are doing it in solidarity with the Palestinians who are fighting Israel in the Gaza Strip.

Kristiansand will increase the Palmesus rental price

In a proposal for a new lease for Palmesus, the popular festival must pay for far more days than they have done in the past.

– They use the tenderloin from our town in the high season, and then it is important to us that they spend as little time as possible on rigging up and down. This agreement gives them a financial incentive to do so, says event manager Tore Løvland in Kristiansand municipality to Fædrelandsvennen.

Until now, the festival has only paid for the days the festival has been organised, but now the municipality wants to charge from the day set-up starts until the day take-down is finished.

In 2024, Palmesus will pay NOK 572,961 for renting Bystranda for three days, but in connection with setting up and taking down, the festival will seize the area for around ten days.

Løvland has written a case for political consideration about the new proposed lease agreement, which will apply from 2025.
