In the next few days, there will be major military activity in several local areas in connection with the Armed Forces returning home from a large exercise in Germany.
In this connection, the Norwegian Armed Forces are now issuing a recommendation to road users.
– We ask them to be aware and show consideration, they write in a press release.
The Telemark battalion has taken part in an exercise in Germany.
Now both personnel and material are on their way back to Rena.
This means a lot of activity on the roads between Drammen and Rena in the next few days.
Vehicles and other material will also be transported by train.

The Norwegian Defense Forces is issuing several specific pieces of advice to road users who will be out on the roads in the next few days.
– Military convoys travel more slowly than ordinary traffic, and there may be some temporary closures. Therefore, calculate extra driving time. Military vehicles are large, but not so easy to spot. Remember that the blind spot is large, they write in the press release.

They say that military convoys will be marked with a blue flag on the front vehicle, and a green flag on the rear.
In the dark, the flags are replaced by blue and green light respectively.
Military columns must be marked with a “Military column” sign.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, several columns will run from Drammen, through Oslo on E6 and on national highway 3 from Kolomoen, via Elverum and to Rena.
The first will be seen in our area early Wednesday evening.
