– Temperatures will rise somewhat in the south, and temperatures can reach 20 degrees, says state meteorologist Marit Berger to NTB.

High pressure and low pressure will switch places after cold air from the north has affected the temperatures in southern Norway in recent days. The turn of the month to May next week will be able to offer close to summer temperatures in several places in the country.

It is not certain that you will reach 20 degrees, but the warm air from the south will definitely be able to lead to a mild start to the month of May, according to the meteorologist.

– In terms of weather, it is generally a slightly unstable period with a lot of changing weather, clouds and the possibility of occasional showers, says Berger.

Forest fire danger

When winter has let go, the snow has melted and old grass is emerging, there is often a risk of fire in forest, grass and heather. The meteorologists currently have a yellow danger warning out that warns people that the vegetation can easily ignite. The danger warning was sent out on Monday this week.

Last week, the general fire ban also came into effect, the meteorologist reminds.

– You should be careful when grilling, it is wise to do it in a place where it has been arranged for it, she says.

Otherwise, the pollen season has long since begun, and according to the pollen warning from the Asthma and Allergy Association, birch pollen is now at a moderate level in Eastern Norway. In the rest of southern Norway, the level is at a modest level.

Also slightly warmer in the north

Otherwise, some precipitation is expected in some places in southern Norway over the next few days. The precipitation may come as sleet and snow at high altitudes, but this snow is not expected to remain for long. But towards the weekend, the weather will be drier.

At the same time, temperatures will also rise somewhat in the north, but here it will still stay cool in some places.

– Not much rainfall is expected in Nordland. Further north in inland areas there will be a greater probability of precipitation, says Berger.
