Traffic accident in Levanger Man died after a lorry overturned on the E6

--

Jan Arne Austad / TV 2 The police in Trøndelag report on Wednesday morning that the E6 is closed following a traffic accident in Vuddudalen in Levanger.

A man in his 50s, who was the driver of the lorry, was confirmed dead by a doctor at the scene.

– The man was stuck in the car after the accident and it was very difficult for rescuers to get there. The man’s relatives have been notified, the police wrote on Twitter at 10.15am.

Leak

– It is a serious traffic accident. The salvage work will take some time. There have been witnesses to the driving. We have to talk more with them and hear what they have seen, says operations manager Ebbe Kimo to TV 2.

The vehicle is located in such a way that it has been difficult to get in to the driver.

It is a tanker truck with adhesive for the asphalt industry that has overturned.

Some of the adhesive in the tanker has leaked out and ended up in a stream next to the road. Operations manager Ebbe Kimo says the police have received feedback that it is not a question of a toxic substance.

– Traffic chaos

The road will probably be closed “for quite some time to come”, Kimo further explains. This is due to very demanding rescue and crime scene work.

– There are reports of traffic chaos on the bypasses after the accident in Vuddudalen. Not much we can do about it at the moment, the police say at 10.30am.

The accident created queues in both directions on the E6, and the situation also led to problems for the rescue teams who were on their way to the scene, the police said on Twitter.

– We receive a message that cars in the queue are trying to turn around. This creates challenges for rescue teams on their way to the scene of the accident. We therefore ask for patience and that cars in the queue remain where they are until further notice, the police wrote.

– Cars still queuing on the E6 can now turn around if they have not already done so. But be careful, the police report at 10.30.
