Ballerina shoes are trending

--

Vsummer is here in full force and it is getting warmer in the air. If you follow fashion trends, you may know that trends tend to come back again.

Flat shoes and ballerina shoes are the big trend this spring, according to City Magazine.

What was once often associated with pink ballet shoes, now comes in various shapes and colours. There are many variations of the popular shoe and several fashion houses have already created their own version.

– Everywhere on the catwalk

According to fashion manager Ida Elise Eide Einarsdottír in KK, the trend is not new.

– The ballerina shoe was perhaps the most important accessory last year. But do not think that the momentum has already been. Because the trend will be big this year too. It was everywhere on the catwalk for this season, she says.

Einarsdottír believes that much of the reason is balletcore – a trend that has really left its mark in the fashion world. The trend is also a kind of extension of the coquettish trend we’ve seen lately, where you put bows on everything.

I think it’s a safe purchase

According to her, fashion’s relationship with ballet is not new.

– Perhaps especially the large luxury fashion houses have both been inspired by and also supported ballet both as an art form and not least borrowed from the aesthetics. Just think of Chanel’s iconic ballet shoes. And Miu Miu’s variant that went viral, she says and continues:

– This year, the ballet shoe is again everywhere, and it comes in a number of different variants from the more classic to The Row and Alaïa’s mesh variants. Yes, of course both the high street and the chain stores are full of different variations of the ballet shoe. A safe purchase by the way. It is classic and elegant, and soon we can actually use it too – on bare asphalt.

The Italian fashion brand Miu Miu tackled balletcore already in 2016 with their spring collection. Since then, the fashion brand has brought them back on the catwalk for its Fall 2022 collection – along with slouchy knee-high socks, mini skirts and oversized coats. That’s what News.au writes.

Since then, many influencers and celebrities have jumped on the trend.

Bears the stamp of the balletcore trend

Earlier this year, we were able to report on a special 80s trend that is back, namely leg warmers.

Leg warmers also bear the stamp of the balletcore trend.

– Leg warmers are one of the trends seen in both the 80s and 90s that have now returned to the fashion scene, and it is a trend I have happily thrown myself into, influencer Nnenna Echem has stated.

Echem said that she likes to style the leg warmers with ballerina shoes or loafers.
