Dit was Christmas Eve last year, Henriette Bruusgaard (42) shared that she had contracted cancer.

“We never know what’s waiting around the next bend. I have got breast cancer. It feels vulnerable to share, but I believe in openness,” she wrote on her Instagram at the time.

Since then, she has continued to share small glimpses of her new everyday life – of both ups and downs.

Elisabeth (50) trained nine years younger in four weeks: – Went down a trouser size

In April, she wrote about how she had her first little “breakdown” at Easter – but tried to focus on all the different ways she could now look after chemotherapy had taken her hair:

She could play with wigs and hats, and joke about it – and focus on the medicine actually working.

Recently, Bruusgaard shared a new post, where it was again about both the dark and the light.

“When you wipe a tear from the children’s drawings, you just notice that it starts to rain a little,” she writes, and has taken a photo of a note she has received from her daughter.

“To mom I love you” is written, among other things, in the characteristic handwriting that only a child can have.

Bruusgaard has agreed that KK can reproduce the content.

Bruusgaard further writes that children have different ways of reacting.

“My daughter takes this out by drawing and writing to me.”

She also adds that she thinks her two children are doing well – her daughter is six years old and her son is eight.

She believes this is due both to the fact that she is upbeat and puts up with a lot, the openness they have – and the children’s father who always stands up.

When the doctor called, Frøydis passed out on the kitchen floor

In a major interview Bruusgaard gave to KK last year, before she got cancer, she talked about the tough time that came after the presenter jobs on television stopped.

For many years she had worked for both TV 2 and TV Norge, and was, among other things, a presenter for Everything for Norway, The Biggest Loser and Who can beat Aamodt and Kjus.

– It still hurts so damn much

After 16 years on the screen, her contract was suddenly no longer renewed. She quickly got started on other projects at the time, and also had her hands full as a mother of small children – but it was altogether a bit too full at the time.

In the interview, she tells honestly about the depressive period she went through, which only got worse when the pandemic came.

At the time, she was unable to communicate how difficult she was to anyone.

After the cancer diagnosis, she does it differently.

In the post where Bruusgaard shares the photo of her daughter’s handwritten note, she ends by saying hello to everyone else who is going through something similar.
