Princess Kate’s cancer video was urgently recorded after the diagnosis was leaked, according to a source

On March 22, Kate, Princess of Wales sent shockwaves around the world when she shared in a pre-recorded video that she had been diagnosed with cancer following stomach surgery in January.

New information now indicates that the British crown prince couple and Kensington Palace “felt compelled” to release the video in which the princess reveals the diagnosis, writes the Daily Mail.

According to a source, the timing of the video’s release had little to do with concerns that Princess Kate, 42, would miss Easter events and speculation and conspiracy theories.

The source tells the British newspaper that the video was quickly made public and published because someone had discovered the princess’s real diagnosis.

Kensington Palace is said to have been contacted with questions about the diagnosis and reportedly had to rush to get the video out to avoid someone else being the first to come up with the diagnosis.

In the video on March 22, a candid Kate says that the diagnosis came as a shock.

– This of course came as a big shock, and William and I have done everything we can to process and deal with this privately for the sake of the children, says Kate in a video she has published on social media.

– It has been incredibly demanding months for the whole family, but I have a fantastic health system that takes good care of me.

Sources tell the New York Post that the Crown Prince couple had tried not to tell the public about the diagnosis in order to spare their three children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5).

Princess Kate is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Wild speculation

The time before the princess revealed the cancer diagnosis was characterized by speculation and wild conspiracy theories. Speculators and internet users claimed, among other things, that the princess was going to donate organs to King Charles, get plastic surgery and that she was actually in a coma.

Several were also convinced that the princess was supposed to be dying or that the marriage with Prince William was about to unravel and that Kate was on the run. According to the newspaper Vox, some even theorized that Kate should have been killed and replaced with a doppelganger.

The video was met with support from several quarters after it was published. King Charles, who himself has recently been diagnosed with cancer, expressed his admiration for his daughter-in-law’s courage.
