Tesla has dismissed the entire department for Superchargers, which are the company’s fast chargers.

The rumors began to circulate on Elon Musk’s social media platform X, where employees who had been fired began posting.

Many of those dismissed were from the Supercharger department, which was later confirmed by one of the department’s middle managers, William Jameson. He writes on X that the entire department had been dismissed.

According to the Financial Times, Elon Musk sent an internal message to Tesla employees, announcing that both the head of the Supercharger department, Rebecca Tinucci, and the head of new products, Daniel Ho, along with their teams, had been dismissed.

Musk stated at X that the company still plans to expand its Supercharger network, but at a slower pace, focusing more on uptime and expanding existing locations. It is still unclear what these changes will entail and why they were implemented. However, Musk pointed out the need for an increased focus on uptime and reliability.

There were approximately 500 employees in the Supercharger division.

The superchargers from Tesla are popular both in the US and internationally, and the department has been one of Tesla’s most successful. Experts and electric car owners are surprised by the news, and it remains unclear what impact this change will have, especially in the United States, where Tesla’s Superchargers have a significant presence.
