Will restore the balance of power

The very optimistic signals come at the same time as Ukraine is under severe pressure along large parts of the front line. After Russia captured several villages in recent months, they have had blood on their teeth.

The leadership in the Kremlin knows very well that huge quantities of American weapons and ammunition are on their way to Ukraine. When these can be used by Ukrainian forces, it will probably restore the balance of power between the warring parties. Then the Russians will face much tougher resistance.

– Recapture the territory the Russians have taken from them

Jake Sullivan believes there is reason to believe that the fortunes of war will eventually turn, and that the Ukrainians will gain the capacity to hold the defense lines and ensure that Ukraine can withstand Russian attacks in 2024.

– Ukraine intends to move forward to recapture the territory that the Russians have taken from them, says the US national security adviser. In that case, it will mean new Ukrainian offensives, which have not happened since the failed counter-offensive that was launched last summer.

– Artillery is a game changer

In addition to American weaponry, the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall warns that it will send hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of 2024. Some of the ammunition has a range of 100 kilometers.

– Artillery is a game changer, says CEO of the German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, according to the Kyiv Independent.

Rheinmetall plans to build new artillery factories in Unterluess, Germany, and in Lithuania. Previously, the company has announced that it will also build an artillery factory in Ukraine, along with other facilities, including the production of military vehicles, ammunition and air defense.
