A flight from Mauritius to Frankfurt am Main in Germany in the evening hours on 2 May was a demanding affair for many passengers.

Key words: Poop and diarrhoea.

The major German newspaper Der Spiegel mentioned the flight first.

70 affected

The African island of Mauritius is a favorite holiday destination for many sun- and beach-loving tourists.

Although the stay on the island itself was probably positive for the 290 passengers on a Condor flight, the trip home was anything but pleasant for several of them.

As many as 70 passengers must have complained of discomfort throughout all or part of the trip, writes the newspaper.

Vomiting, nausea and stomach problems must have been common for the affected passengers.

Neither the pilots nor the other cabin crew were unwell.

All emergency services called

The uproar also continued shortly after landing. The crew had contacted the airport in advance – which sent out a huge call consisting of all emergency services.

According to Spiegel, a total of around 15 emergency vehicles must have met the plane.

The news agency DPA reports, however, that the fewest vehicles actually had practical use.

Confirms

A spokesperson for Condor has not stated the specific number of cases on board, but confirms that challenges arose along the way.

– The crew is specially schooled and trained in such situations, and after a careful assessment, it was decided that the flight could continue, says the person concerned.

The type of aircraft involved must have been an Airbus A330neo.
