(Avisen Agder) Tor Vidar is in Oslo at the hotel. Soon he will have a stage and sound test – the last one before it finally breaks loose tonight.

– We have already had two stage rehearsals earlier this week, but now it will be the final finish, he says to Agder.

So far, Tor Vidar has impressed greatly, and has been sent on by his mentor Jarle Bernhoft every time. This time the audience decides. The artist himself is nervous ahead of the broadcast.

– I am more nervous about waiting for the result than about the singing itself, he reveals.

Tonight he is the third man out. He is happy not to be last.

There is generally a lot of waiting and a lot of nerves in the build-up to the performances. It’s no wonder – there’s a lot at stake.

Took selfies at Karl Johan

Following the impressive audition, attention around Tor Vidar has exploded. The video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

How have you felt The Voice success?

– In between, it’s different being Tor Vidar now than before The Voice. I noticed it yesterday – there were a lot of selfies when I walked around Oslo’s streets, but it’s also very hectic. It was calmer being Tor Vidar a year ago. But it’s fun – I’m just myself, he replies.

How do you experience the cameras when you are recording?

– When I sing, I mostly focus on the audience at the start to calm my nerves. Gradually, I think a little more about the TV cameras and those watching at home.

But The Voice is about more than just singing. There are interviews, behind the scenes and more where the TV team is present.

– I don’t think much about it. I am myself and say and do what I would otherwise do. The only thing that can be a little small is when I do something the production team thinks is funny…they ask me to repeat it in front of the camera.

The mayors share and cheer for Tor Vidar

We in Agder and others like to refer to him as the “Kvinesdal artist”, and that is in no way wrong, but in recent years he has lived at Moi in Lund municipality, and for the Lunddøls he is also a bit “theirs”.

In a feature with Kvinesdal mayor Per Sverre Kvinlaug and Lund mayor Gro Helleland, they talk about this. They both express great support for Tor Vidar and cheer him on loud and clear.

– We share a bit of him, the two of us. And we encourage everyone in the region to vote for Tor Vidar! they say together.

Tor Vidar Rennestraum lives at Moi, but is from Kvinesdal. The mayors Per Sverre Kvinlaug in Kvinesdal and Gro Helleland in Lund have posted this video on Facebook, where they encourage people to vote for The Voice artist.

Half of them smoke

The Voice’s live broadcasts are relentless. Tonight, half of the eight who will be on stage quit.

What song are you going to sing?

– I will play Billie Jean.

In your own way?

– Yes absolutely. There will be a bit of country, a bit of Michael Jackson and a bit of Deep Purple.

Deep Purple, then?

– There is an awful lot of Hammond organ.

PS! Do you want to see Tor Vidar with others? Utsikten Hotell in Kvinesdal opens doors and taps, and shows everything on the big screen.
