– Will move into a more withdrawn role

--

INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford has been Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s eyes and ears in Manchester since the takeover, and has been one of the club’s front-line figures now, but there is reason to believe he will become less visible as time goes on.

The Daily Mail now writes that Brailsford is preparing to move into a more secluded role.

He reportedly plans to move back to his Monaco base in September, but the timing of that role adjustment could be affected by Dan Ashworth’s mediation with Newcastle, which will affect when Ashworth can start the job as United’s sporting director.

Brailsford is said to have held a number of one-on-one meetings with players, and they were said to have been impressed with how Brailsford approached it.

According to the Daily Mail’s sources, Brailsford should have appeared as a good listener, and as a person who is committed when it comes to creating a positive environment.

From Monaco, the INEOS sports director will be closer to Nice than he has been in recent months.
