Steinkjer, Verdal | Arguing men got an involuntary trip to Trondheim, church bells ringing and an empty tent – read about the night’s events

Early on the night of Sunday, a man in his 20s from Steinkjer was tried to be expelled after a fight and a row at a night club in the city. The person was not very cooperative when the police came either, and it ended with the man having to be driven to the central detention center in Trondheim to spend the night there.

– The person concerned will be reported for not having complied with orders from the police, says operations manager Øystein Sandhals Volden.

Also in Namsos, there was a man in his 20s who was excessively drunk and uncooperative. The police patrol came across the person in the city center long after the pubs’ closing time, and the solution was a drive to Trondheim for further follow-up in the central detention center.

– He is on his way in here now, and will probably be checked in here in an hour’s time, informs Volden at the police operations center in Trondheim just before 6 o’clock on Sunday morning.

Drunk driving in Levanger

In the center of Levanger, the police at the scene received a tip about drink driving. The incident was logged at 03.51. A man in his teens who was driving a car was checked, and the patrol chose to take the person in question to a doctor for evidence protection in the form of a blood test. The driver’s license is confiscated and a case is opened.

Empty tent in Stjørdal

Late on Saturday evening, the police received an inquiry from a cabin resident at Sonvatna in Hegra, after observing an empty tent.

– The person had seen a person and a dog at the tent on Friday, but was surprised when she did not see the person on Saturday. We sent a patrol, and after examining a nearby vehicle finally came into contact with a person who had been out on a trip that took a little longer than planned, but everything was fine, says Volden.

The church bells rang

In the center of Namsos, the police task leader was taken aback when the church bells in the town suddenly started ringing shortly after 02:00. The patrol investigated the church and found that a door was open. No unauthorized persons were inside the building, but the police suspect that someone has been inside and started the clocks using a remote control a little earlier than is appropriate on a Sunday.

Party riots in Verdal and Steinkjer

The good weather has brought a good atmosphere, but also noise in connection with parties in several places in Trøndelag. On the outskirts of Verdal, a private party became so loud and prolonged that the neighbors felt compelled to contact the police. The message came at 02.10, but it took some time before the police managed to visit the address in question. Then the party was over.

There were also neighbors in Sparbu who disturbed the night’s tranquility. The message was logged on 03.28. The police made contact with the host of the party by phone, but even though the person in question, a man in his 30s, was perceived as relatively drunk, the police’s message to calm down was clearly understood.

– We haven’t received any reports about noise after this, says Volden.

In the center of Steinkjer there has been a lot of noise from robbers, in the form of both driving and music, which has been going on throughout the night.

Had to assist “footless” man

In Kolvereid, the police chose to drive home a man in his 30s who was unable to take care of himself. A patrol had been in contact with the man earlier in the evening, but when he was observed again later that night, he was so “footless” that he was given a ride home.

There was also a downhill race in Kolvereid on the night of Sunday. No one was injured, but the car had to be recovered.

– The accident happened at low speed, and is probably due to loose gravel on the road. The driver stated that the car had skidded onto the shoulder of the road, says Volden.

Found man in hedge

In Stjørdal, a resident in the center discovered a drunken man in a hedge early Sunday morning. He was unable to explain himself and the caller was concerned. The police attended and eventually made contact. The solution was to drive the man home to his girlfriend to get a slightly more pleasant start to Sunday.

Wind and sun on Sunday

The Meteorological Institute reports another fine May day on Sunday. Changing winds are expected, on the coast a fresh breeze from the north-east. Tonight there may be easterly fresh prices in exposed places. In the south of Trøndelag, there may be some rain showers in inland areas in the evening.

It is cool on Sunday morning, but sun and temperatures of up to 20 degrees are expected on Sunday as well.

There is still a high risk of forest fires in snow-free areas. The use of open flames is not recommended, as vegetation can easily ignite and large areas can be affected, the hazard warning states.
