Gullruten, NRK | If she doesn’t win, I don’t understand anything

--

The comment expresses the writer’s opinions.

Tonight, the stage is set once again for Gullruten on TV 2 and a number of awards will be handed out to the entertainment industry.

There are many good candidates to win, but I still have some clear favourites. In fact, there are some I think are so crystal clear that if they don’t win, it will be a scandal.

Here are some of the categories, and some of the ones I think should take home a prize tonight:

“Makta” should win

The category “Best drama series” is so clear, that I actually don’t think it’s possible with a different outcome than that… (drum roll)… “Makta” wins.

So, isn’t it just the best drama series of all time with the best actors of all time? Yes, I mean.

The other nominees in this category are:

  • “Delete Me 2”
  • “The Sailor of War”
  • “The Architect”

The category “Best comedy drama” is somewhat more difficult. The nominees are:

  • “The floorball warriors”
  • “Fool’s Day”
  • “Fökkings Fladseth”
  • “Camo”

Here, I think all of them are good candidates, and I’m not going to chew my hands off regardless of who wins.

I’ll probably still hold a button on “Stupid Day”.

Maria Ludvigsen

Maria Ludvigsen is SoMe manager and entertainment commentator in Nettavisen. She has previously distinguished herself as a “Shall we dance” commentator, and likes to have her say on everything that creeps up and down in Norwegian and international entertainment.

“Gauteshow” can divide the country

“Best comedy programme” is a fun category this year – primarily because both “Gauteshow” AND “New again” are nominated. Will the country split in two? Will the young people vote “Gauteshow” and the older people “New again”?

“Rikets Roast” and “The King Commands” are also nominated in the category, but I think they are fighting a tough battle.

Personally, I would probably prefer to give the award to “The King Commands” or “New Again”, but I will basically be surprised if it doesn’t go to the two comrades – i.e. “Gauteshow”.

Holding a button on “Game”

“Best competition-driven reality” is perhaps the category I’m most looking forward to. The nominees are:

  • “The Game”
  • “Company Lauritzen”
  • “Traitor”
  • “The Portrait Championship”

Let’s be brutally honest: All of these deserve to win.

Perhaps there are many who have not caught the “Portrait Championship”, in which case I recommend watching it. There is something deeply fascinating about the fact that someone has actually come up with the idea of making a TV competition out of artists being allowed to portray celebrities.

Of course, I’m holding a button on my big favorite “The Game”, but we’ll see what happens.

Give Fredrik Solvang an award

In the category “Best news and current affairs programme” the nominees are:

  • “Norway behind the facade”
  • “URIX”
  • “The Debate”
  • “Petter – where nobody wants to live”

Here I don’t have to say much other than: Let “The Debate” and Fredrik Solvang win – give that man a prize. What an incredible effort he makes.

Solvang is also nominated in another category. Namely “Best presenter – reality, lifestyle and current affairs”

Solvang is nominated together with:

  • Else Kåss Furuseth for “Helsekost Furuseth”
  • Mads Hansen for “Traitor”
  • Bård Tufte Johansen for “The Caretaker”
  • Petter Nyquist for “Petter – where no one will live” and
  • Tuva Fellman for “Insider”

If Solvang or Else Kåss Furuseth don’t win, I don’t understand anything!

Solvang is and will be a fantastic presenter in “The Debate” – this year he has also shown that he also masters other stages. I was deathly impressed by how he tackled the role of presenter in Melodi Grand Prix head on.

Else Kåss Furuseth perhaps deserves the award even more. The presenter role she took on “Helsekost Furuseth” was phenomenal. It can’t have been an easy task – and I think the series has done a lot for many.

Gullruten’s big nut

In the category “Best presenter – entertainment”, these are nominated:

  • Solveig Kloppen and Jon Almaas for “All against all”
  • Atle Antonsen and Olli Wermskog for “The King Commands”
  • Else Kåss Furuseth for “ELSE!”
  • Solveig Kloppen for “Norwegian Talents”
  • Marte Stokstad for “Address Liverpool”
  • Bård Tufte Johansen for “New again”

To me this is a nut. I can’t choose.

I think Kloppen and Almaas are an unexpected but absolutely fantastic duo.

Atle Antonsen and Olli Wermskog definitely deserve a Gullruten for their efforts in “The King Commands”.

Else Kåss Furuseth is perhaps the last sitting talk show queen, and she deserves praise for that.

Kloppen is good in Norske Talenter (she makes it impossible not to shed a tear or ten steadily),

Marte Stokstad is responsible for one of the programs the undersigned loves most – the Adresse programs ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest. Stokstad always plays the guests well and serves the TV viewers exactly what we want. Give her a Gullruten!

And last but not least: Bård Tufte Johansen in “Nytt på Nytt” – well, who thought that a change of presenter would only make that program better and better?

No, I can’t do this. Can’t everyone just get a Gullruten statue? Can they split it into six?

Tear my hair out

Best reality and lifestyle programme: Here the statue just absolutely has to go to “Zero stars”. A better travel program will take a long time to find.

The other nominees in the category are:

  • “Artist’s life”
  • “Health food Furuseth”
  • “Company Lauritzen: Squad”

So to the very last category I’m considering: Best Actor Drama.

The nominees are:

  • Sofia Tjelta Sydness for “Delete me 2”
  • Kristoffer Joner for “Krigsseileren”
  • Jan Gunnar Røise for “Makta”
  • Kathrine Thorborg Johansen for “Makta”
  • Selda Ekiz for “Norwegian-ish”
  • Eili Harboe for “The Architect”

I wanted to write this in capital letters:

If Kathrine Thorborg Johansen doesn’t win this Gullruten, for her lovely Gro Harlem Brundtland role in “Makta”, then I’m going to tear out all my hair.

That’s it, thanks for me. Enjoy tonight’s Gullruten and cheer for your favourite. May the best win!
