Count Henrik turns 15 on Saturday 4 May. The count is the son of Prince Joachim (54) and Princess Marie (48), and according to tradition, the Danish royal house has shared a new photo of the count on the occasion of his birthday on Instagram.

“His Excellency Count Henrik has a birthday and turns 15 today. On the occasion of the birthday, the count’s mor, Her Royal Highness Princess Marie, took a new photo of the birthday boy,” the post says.
In the photo, Count Henrik can be seen smiling at the camera wearing a blue-grey hoodie, carrying a rucksack and with a cap on his head.
In the comment field, congratulations flow in for the 15-year-old.
“What a great young man,” writes one.
“He looks a lot like his father,” says another.
“Happy Birthday. We will soon not recognize you anymore, you are becoming a young man,” writes a third.
Last year, the count was confirmed in Paris, which made headlines. This is based on the fact that Henrik’s parents, Princess Marie and Prince Joachim, chose to break a tradition spanning over a hundred years.
This was the first time that any of Queen Margrethe’s (84) grandchildren were not confirmed in Fredensborg’s castle church in Denmark. The reason was that at the time the princely couple lived in Paris with their children.
The confirmation itself took place in Frederikskirken in the French capital, and ahead of the big day, the Danish royal house shared a sweet photo carousel of Count Henrik.
The picture carousel showed pictures from the count’s life.
“Tomorrow, His Excellency Count Henrik will join the ranks of the adults, when he is confirmed in Frederikskirken in Paris”, the post opened with.
“On this occasion, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have the pleasure of sharing photos from their son’s childhood in a small digital book,” it continued.
