Victoria Skau (25) is known as one of the country’s biggest YouTube profiles. Now she is current in TV 2’s “Spillet”, as well as TVNorge’s “Sistemann ut”.

Her TV career got off to a flying start in 2021 when she led “Ghost Hunters” together with Lilli Bendriss and Robin Hofset. For the 25-year-old, the debut was to turn out to be far from just positive.

– When I was host of “Ghost Hunters” on TVNorge, I experienced a storm of hate. It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever been through.

– There were many faithful “Power of the Spirits” viewers who were not such a fan of the concept where we tried to reach the younger ones. It was very heavy, Victoria tells Her og Nå.

Participating in the “Game”

Previously, she had experienced how online roles can operate on social media, but this reached new heights.

– I’m usually good at brushing off ugly comments, but there were a lot of them at once, as well as from a new and older target group. I felt unsightly just going on the tram. It was absolutely terrible, and I felt that the whole of Norway hated me.

AUTHOR: In 2021, Victoria published the book “I don’t regret that I loved you – about love grief”. It should be a self-help book for others with heartbreak.

The 25-year-old is passionate about stopping online harassment. After participating in the “Game”, several of the other participants have had to go through the process.

– I am very much in favor of fighting the internet. In “The Game”, an extremely large number of people have experienced both harassment and threats. It’s one of the worst things I’ve seen, and I think it hurts. I know very well what it’s like myself.

She herself has only received pleasant comments after this participation.

– I was very afraid of what might come and am very grateful that there has only been positive feedback and that people think I have made a good impression. I hope it continues.

Program manager for “Radio Top 40”

On a daily basis, Victoria is also the presenter of “Radio Top 40”. She is constantly asked about where she finds the security to stand in everything she experiences.

– Throughout my upbringing, I have been involved in so many things that have led to where I am today. It’s magical, she says and smiles a little, before her face takes on a more serious look.

– I have been extremely insecure and have gone through a lot of bullying. Standing in your own right and being positive has not been easy at all. I have pushed my comfort zone and done things I find uncomfortable, she says and elaborates:

– I know who I am, and so do those closest to me. That’s what matters.

– Who has been your most important supporter?

– It’s my family. No matter what I’ve been through, they’ve always been there. I chose not to study, but rather invest fully in social media and YouTube. They have “had my back” all the way and told me that I will make it. Hearing that voice all the time has made me feel like I can make it happen.

– This has been very exciting and different from anything else I have been involved in. I have really felt the competitive instinct.
