The emergency services responded to an accident at a ski center in Geilo on Tuesday afternoon. A man in his 70s has been confirmed dead.

The police received a report about the accident at 2.30pm on Tuesday.
– There has been a collision between two skiers on one of the slopes. One of the people, a man in his 70s, was unfortunately confirmed dead at the scene by a doctor, the police wrote in a press release on Tuesday evening.
The other party in the accident was a young boy who was taken to the emergency room and then to hospital.
– We are now working to obtain the sequence of events. We are carrying out technical and tactical investigative steps at the scene, and we are questioning witnesses to the incident, says operations manager Marius Fosvold, to VG.

Deputy mayor in Hol municipality, Hanne Birgitte Lindbak Haatuft, tells VG that relatives are looked after by health.
– This is immeasurably sad and incredibly sad. After all, there is a shock in us when an accident ends so fatally. Relatives are now being looked after by health, and the police are on the scene to carry out investigations, says Haatuft.
She further states that the leader of the crisis team in the municipality is on site together with health.
