Resident foreigners from different countries living in Antalya organized the event “Immigrants Festival and Photography Exhibition”.

The festival was in Konyaaltı Municipality Feslikan Hall in collaboration with Konyaaltı City Council Foreigners’ Assembly and Leader Women’s Platform. The festival was accompanied by music concerts and folk dances in traditional clothes, which attracted great interest from Antalya residents and Antalya residents.

To meet and engage

Speaking at the opening of the event, Zera Vareldzhi, head of the City Council Foreigners’ Assembly and Leader Women’s Platform, said, “We organize various events to bring resident foreigners from different countries together, to meet each other, to socialize and to be neighbors with the population of Antalya.” Vareldzhi stated that they are happy to live in Antalya.

“We become neighbours, we become family”

Konyaaltı municipal councilor Hasan Hüseyin Ateşoğlu said: “We don’t want to hear the word foreigner anymore. We became neighbors and family with our friends from different countries and cultures.” The city council’s women’s council leader Özlem Saday also praised the adaptation efforts of the Foreigners’ Council.

World songs performed

After the speeches, the Foreigners’ Choir and local and foreign voice artists took to the stage. At the concert, the most listened and popular songs in Turkey, Italy, France, Russia, Ukraine, Crimea, Tatarstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were performed. The audience, which filled the hall, accompanied many songs in unison. After performances by folk dance ensembles in colorful local costumes, a painting and photography exhibition was opened.
