Accident, Highway 4 | Julie Marie Landgraff died in the accident on rv. 4

--

It was 23-year-old Julie Marie Landgraff from Hamar who died in the tragic accident on national highway 4 on Tuesday this week. The name will be released in consultation with the family.

The police reported the accident between a car and a lorry at 09.20 on Tuesday morning. The car crossed into the oncoming lane where the lorry came driving.

– It indicates that it was an accident, and we know that it was slippery at the scene, said police attorney Trine Hanssen to OA on Wednesday.

On Friday, Hanssen states that the investigation is still ongoing.

Frontal collision

There was one person in each of the vehicles. According to the police, the truck driver, a Norwegian man, appeared to be unharmed. He was taken care of by the “colleague support” of the Norwegian Truck Owners’ Association, where Guttorm Tysnes is regional manager in the interior.

The location of the collision was more precisely at Mørkved, which is located between Dalsjordet and Bråstadbrua, approximately four kilometers north of Gjøvik on national highway 4.

In recent years, there have been several fatal accidents on national highway 4, between Gjøvik and Biri. On August 11, 2017, there was a fatal accident at approximately the same location.

Sent letter to the government

Shortly after Gjøvik mayor Torvild Sveen (Sp) learned that there was a fatal accident on national highway 4, he wrote a letter to transport minister Jon-Ivar Nygård (Ap) and managing director Anette Aanesland in Nye Veier. There, the mayor was very clear that the development of national highway 4 – and traffic safety – must be on the priority list.

– The limit was reached a long time ago, which I write in the letter. Both parties, both the minister and the director of Nye Veier, must get involved. Although Nye Veier has been assigned the stretch, the ministry and the minister still have the overall responsibility, a clear Sveen told OA.
