Actor and former child star Ryan Grantham (24) has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Canadian Grantham, known from series such as “Riverdale”, “Supernatural”, “Playing Easy” and “iZombie”, received the sentence British Columbia’s Supreme Court in Canada on Tuesday, reports E! News, People and a number of other media.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty in March to shooting and killing his own mother, Barbara Waite, in 2020.
He can apply for parole in 14 years at the earliest.
Grantham defender Chris Johnson tells E! News after the sentence has been passed that his client has worked hard to “get his life back on track”.
– He has received a lot of psychiatric help, and he has had a lot of pain considering what he has done – and having to answer for it, says the lawyer.
After the actor had killed his mother in her own home, he had plans for several violent raids against various targets. However, Grantham ended up going to the police station in Vancouver, where he stated that he had killed his own mother.
Ryan Grantham was only ten years old when he started his career in the film “The Secret of the Nutcracker”.
