While Marcus Rashford is nominated for player of the month, Erik ten Hag is nominated for manager of the month in the Premier League. It became clear on Thursday.
Rashford has been nominated after a total of two goals and two assists spread over his two games in September and is one of a total of six players who can walk away with the award.
The other five are Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa), Philip Billing (Bournemouth), Pierre-Emil Højbjerg (Tottenham) and Alex Iwobi (Everton).
Erik ten Hag stands with a full pot and six points after the two games against Leicester and Arsenal respectively this month. The United manager also has four straight wins in the Premier League.
The Dutchman is nominated together with Antonio Conte (Tottenham) and Gary O’Neill (Bournemouth).
The previous United player to receive the award was Cristiano Ronaldo. He was named Player of the Month for April 2022 after scoring five goals in four games.
The previous United manager was Ole Gunnar Solskjær back in January 2019. The Norwegian received the award after leading United to ten points in four games.
Incidentally, Manchester United have only played two games in the Premier League in September. The next league match is against Manchester City at the Etihad on 2 October.
