The politicians reject the controversial forest road

Few road proposals have created more noise than this forest road in Østmarka. Now the politicians in Lørenskog flatly say no.

The plan for a 4-kilometre-long forest road in Østmarka was launched in 2022. The protests immediately hailed: “Monster road”, reported Oslo’s environmental council at the time, Sirin Stav (MDG). The Nature Conservation Association in Oslo and Akershus (NOA) calls it “By far the biggest intervention in the Oslo landscape in recent times”.

DNT concluded that “the planned service road will constitute a major intervention in the terrain. It will have an impact on nature and break up the current forest picture for those who are on a trip.”
