The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, is on Thursday, yet another day, in court in the much-discussed “hishpenge case” in New York.

Trump has been indicted for violating the Accounting Act in connection with a payment of $130,000 from Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen as “hush money” to porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2016.

The case is referred to in several media as historic, as a former American president has never been charged in a criminal trial before.

The Supreme Court of the United States will start hearing on Thursday the case about whether former President Donald Trump has immunity from criminal prosecution for influencing the election.

Paid Playboy Model

In the court’s third day in the “hishjpenge case”, David Pecker will testify again, as he has also done on the previous days in court.

Pecker, who is a close friend of Trump, is the former publisher and editor-in-chief of the tabloid National Enquirer.

Previously, he has said that he has helped to cover up potentially harmful articles before the presidential election in 2016.

– We used “chequebook journalism” and we paid for the stories, he said from the witness box on Monday.

On Thursday, Pecker says that in 2016 he asked the editor-in-chief of the National Enquirer, Dylan Howard, to buy the rights to Playboy model Karen McDougal’s story for 150,000 dollars, which corresponds to a good 1.6 million kroner.

Karen McDougal has previously claimed to have had an affair with Donald Trump for a year.

Pecker admits that a contract was signed with McDougal in August 2016. It happened after she claimed to have had an affair with Donald Trump for a year, writes Sky News.

– Were you concerned about the legality of paying to “kill” a story that was linked to a presidential candidate? asks prosecutor Joshua Steinglass.

– Yes, replies David Pecker.

– May result in imprisonment

– Nice girl

He confirms that they never intended to publish McDougal’s story, and according to Pecker, Trump himself should have known about the contract signed with the Playboy model.

According to Pecker, Donald Trump called him in June 2016 and said:

– Karen is a kind girl.

Pecker says Trump said his lawyer, Michael Cohen, would contact him. Furthermore, he says that Cohen allegedly asked him to buy McDougal’s story, and that the Trump Organization would then pay him back.

Immunity case in the Supreme Court

This is still not the only trial the former president is involved in on Thursday.

On Thursday morning local time, Trump met both the press and his supporters in New York, where he complained that the “kickback case” prevents him from participating in court when the Supreme Court of the United States will hear the case of whether the former president has immunity from criminal prosecution for election influence.

The Supreme Court will hear party submissions in the case on Thursday. It is then expected that a decision will be made by the end of June.

– We have a big case today – this judge wouldn’t let me go, but we have a big case today in the Supreme Court about presidential immunity, a president has to have immunity, Trump said Thursday morning, according to ABC News.
