At 20:22, the police report to Bergens Tidende that one person has died in the collision. The next of kin have been notified.
At 18.55, all emergency services have arrived at the scene of the accident, and the police inform that the driver of the tanker is now being cared for by health.
At 19.20 on Monday evening, all involved have been evacuated from the tunnel. Operations manager in the police, Steinar Hausvik, tells Dagbladet.
– The tunnel has now been evacuated, he says.

Due to a leak of caustic bag from the tanker, crews from the fire service are dressed in protective equipment to try to seal off the leak inside the tunnel.
– It is about chemicals. So we dress up in chemical equipment and breathing equipment, says Gjesdal at BA’s 110 switchboard.
The accident team and police forensics are on the scene. The police confirm that one person has died after the accident.
– We can now unfortunately confirm that this is a fatal accident in which the driver of the passenger car has died. Relatives have been notified, they write.
The Stavenes tunnel at the E16 in Vaksdal is closed as a result of the accident. The road will be closed until Tuesday, the police report to BT.
– The tunnel will be closed for quite some time, the detour will be via Hardanger Fv49 and Fv79, writes Vegtrafikksentralen in the west.
