NEW YORK (Nettavisen): Donald Trump and his potential sexual relationship with the porn star Stormy Daniels have again come to the fore after the former president was offered to testify before a grand jury in Manhattan this week.
Donald Trump refused to testify, and the former president now claims that he will be arrested on Tuesday next week.

The investigation into Trump is linked to a case in which porn actress Stormy Daniels was paid so-called “hush money” via Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen before the presidential election in 2016.
Stormy Daniels has claimed on several occasions that she had sex with Donald Trump back in 2006, which Trump himself has denied.

Michael Cohen believes it is time for Trump to take responsibility for the payment that took place.
– My position is that Donald Trump must ultimately be held responsible for his dirty deeds, says Cohen in a statement to the New York Times this week.

Cohen previously admitted to special counsel Robert Mueller that he paid bribes to Daniels and a former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Without naming Trump, Cohen said he was doing this on behalf of “the candidate for federal office.”
In 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to organizing the payment of money to keep people quiet about matters that could damage Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Cohen testified on Monday before a grand jury in Manhattan, and the fact that Donald Trump was offered to testify before the same grand jury may indicate that an indictment will soon be issued against him. It is unclear whether Stormy Daniels will testify in front of a grand jury, but on Wednesday this week she appeared at the state attorney’s office with her lawyer to discuss the case.
– Worried about the marriage
Now author Tim O’Brien says Donald Trump may have paid Stormy Daniels the money because he was afraid of his wife Melania.
– I think he was worried that his marriage would fail, says O’Brien to MSNBC.
The former president of the United States risks being prosecuted for violating the law on election campaign financing by the prosecution arguing that the money was an attempt to prevent the publication of information that could damage his election campaign.

The backdrop is the porn actress’ claims that she and Trump had a sexual relationship, and that she received $130,000 before the presidential election in 2016. The money was supposed to be a payment for her not speaking out about her relationship with Trump, according to Daniels.
Trump denies that it happened, and in 2018 he said he had not heard of any payment. The relationship between Daniels and Trump is said to have lasted from the summer of 2006 and well into 2007.

After the invitation to testify came, Trump once again denied that he had any relationship with Daniels, claiming that the investigation is part of a larger conspiracy to get rid of him
– I have not done anything wrong at all, he wrote in a long post on his own platform Truth Social this week.

Long history of infidelity
O’Brien, on the other hand, says to MSNBC that Donald Trump may have paid money to the porn actress because he was afraid of his own wife.
– I don’t think he was just worried about the potential failure of his campaign. I think he was also worried about the failure of the marriage, says O’Brien to MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House”.

– Donald Trump has a long history of being unfaithful to his spouses, and I think that at this point he was more afraid of Melania Trump than of the voters, so he had a motivation to get this cleared up, says O’Brien.
According to Insider, O’Brien wrote the biography “TrumpNation: The Art of Being The Donald” in 2004, and is now one of the editors at Bloomberg’s commentary department.
– Trump only fears one person
They also make a point of not being the first to claim that Donald Trump is afraid of his wife.
Kellyanne Conway, one of Donald Trump’s closest advisers during the presidency, has said the following about Trump’s fear of Melania.
– He listens to many of us, but he only fears one person, and that is Melania Trump.

In an interview with ABC News, one of Trump’s lawyers, Joe Tacopina, hints that this could become part of the defenders’ strategy in court.
– I have no idea when you start prosecuting people who are exposed to blackmail, says Tacopina.
– He has vehemently denied this affair, but he had to pay money because there would be an allegation that would be publicly embarrassing for him, regardless of the campaign, says the lawyer.

– A horse’s snout
Donald Trump’s lawyers have denied that he will testify in front of a grand jury, and in several messages on Truth Social he is attacking both Stormy Daniels, her lawyer and Michael Cohen head-on.
Among other things, Trump calls the porn actor “a horse’s snout”, which he has also done repeatedly in the past.
– I did NOTHING wrong in the “Hestetryne” case”. I see she showed up in New York today trying to drum up some publicity for herself. I haven’t seen or spoken to her since I took a picture with her on a golf course, in full golf gear – hat included, almost 18 years ago. The former President of the United States writes on the social media site Truth Social on Saturday that he will be arrested on Tuesday. He asks his supporters to protest and “take the country back”.

He further claims that leaks from the prosecutor’s office in Manhattan indicate that the country’s “former president and the Republicans’ leading candidate by a good margin” – i.e. himself – will be arrested on Tuesday.
