ULLEVAAL (Dagbladet): Kristian Thorstvedt is doing like dad Erik Thorstvedt (59): He is conquering Europe on the football pitch.

In June, he announced a transfer from Genk in Belgium to Sassuolo in Serie A in Italy. Now he is preparing international matches against Slovenia and Serbia.

The midfielder confirms to Dagbladet that a lot is going well. Also that he has got a girlfriend.

– I expect so, he replies when we ask if she is going to the international competition.

This is also all he wants to say about his girlfriend Mille Josefine Fusdahl. They have shared a nice photo on Instagram, and Thorstvedt confirms the relationship.

The midfielder meets the Norwegian media primarily to talk about what will happen in the next few days. Norway is going for victory in the group in the Nations League. The team is three points ahead of Serbia with two games remaining.

– It is very nice to come back to that group here. We are looking forward to the two matches, says Thorstvedt at the media day at the Ullevaal stadium.

– What expectations do you have?

– The same expectations as in the June meeting. We lead the group and go for victory.

Thorstvedt has a mentality that coach Ståle Solbakken loves. In October last year, he whipped up the mood in Istanbul.

Norway played 1-1 against Turkey in the World Cup qualifiers, and after scoring, Thorstvedt hit the home fans three times in the air.

– The trickiest thing he does

– The Turks fired up the crowd before the match with the same thing I did there, so I thought I should take one back. A little humor, he declared.

But that was not how angry Turks saw it. Thorstvedt nevertheless survived a collective tantrum in the stands.

According to several reports, he went from Genk to Sassuolo for over NOK 100 million. The team is in 11th place in Serie A, eight points behind leaders Napoli. Thorstvedt has played against both Juventus and Milan.

– How do you feel in Italy?

– Very good. I am happy with the choice I made and am happy. It’s exciting with a new place. It’s a step up. Sassuolo is a great club.

– How do you feel about the start of the season?

– It has been a bit up and down. I’ve been in and out of the team a bit. But I have just arrived in a new country and it takes some time to settle.

– And the Italian culture?

– Absolutely gorgeus. I love Italy and have been there a lot on holiday.

– Do you speak a few words of Italian?

– Yes, some glosses. But I haven’t gotten very far. I have a job to do there.

For Norway, he has 17 international matches and four goals. Now the goal is the EC finals in Germany in 2024.

Thus pasta!

As the Italians would say.
