Erling Braut Haaland is perhaps the world’s hottest footballer at the moment, and the Manchester City striker is also well paid for his good play.
According to the financial magazine Kapital, Haaland will become Norway’s first football billionaire during the contract period at Manchester City.
Kapital writes, reproduced by TV 2 and NRK among others, that they estimate Haaland’s income from Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and the equipment supplier Nike is up to NOK 130 million, and with a reported annual salary at Manchester City of NOK 220 million in the next few years , Kapital estimates that Haaland is worth around NOK 1.1 billion.
They also estimate that Haaland will earn around NOK 150 million a year from sponsorship deals. In total, this will give him an annual income of NOK 370 million, before any bonuses.
“Never before, as far as Kapital knows, has a Norwegian managed to create such a large fortune in such a short time, and at such a young age. That makes Braut Haaland, by a good margin, Norway’s first football billionaire,” writes Kapital.
It is in connection with Kapital’s annual Top 400 list of Norway’s richest that Kapital has written about Haaland’s finances, a list Haaland did not reach this year.
Haaland has played havoc for Manchester City since his transfer this summer and has scored 14 goals in ten games (eleven goals in the Premier League and three goals in the Champions League).
