The website writes that all formalities must be completed before the Russian transfer window closes on Thursday.

Normann went out himself at the weekend and said that he was on his way to a new club in Russia. He did so in an interview with TV 2. He chooses to make that choice despite the Russian warfare in Ukraine. He has received a lot of criticism for that.

The national team future of Mathias Normann is uncertain after he revealed plans to join a new club in Russia. A clarification takes place at the latest at the next withdrawal.

This is what Norwegian Football Association (NFF) president Lise Klaveness says in a text message to NTB. There, a point is made that she and national team manager Ståle Solbakken often talk together about important and difficult matters. This also applies to the situation around Normann.

– We are now awaiting Normann’s final choice and possible signing for a new Russian club. He must stand for his choice himself, but as previously mentioned, we will assess whether he can be selected for Norway if he chooses a new, Russian club. The conclusion of this assessment will be conveyed by Ståle during the press conference next week when the withdrawal is made public, writes Klaveness.

The upcoming draw for the next two matches in the national league will be made next Monday.

Norway will first face Slovenia away, while Serbia awaits at the Ullevaal stadium a few days later.

It was TV 2 that reported on Saturday that Normann was on his way to Russia to complete the transfer from Rostov to a Moscow-based club.

The 26-year-old has been under contract with Russian Rostov since January 2019. Last season he was on loan at Norwich, but did not extend his stay there after relegation from the Premier League.

Normann’s agent Imad El Hammichi has still not answered VG’s repeated inquiries.
