On Saturday, Arsenal took another dominant victory in the Premier League. Nevertheless, the victory has an aftertaste.

Just a few days before the triumph, Arsenal’s field man, Steve Braddock, passed away. Braddock has long been linked to the London club, and got the job as groundsman in August 1987.

Since then, he has been responsible for the turf at both Highbury and Emirates Stadium, as well as the club’s training facility London Colney.

Praised: – Incredible

After the match against Bournemouth, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta chose to dedicate the victory to Braddock, who passed away on Friday, just one day before the match.

– I would like to dedicate this victory to him and his family. It was an honor to meet him. He was loved and he really left his mark on the club. I hope he rests in peace and hopefully the family can get through this difficult time,” Arteta added https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1561092036966621184 after the match.

Martin Ødegaard and the rest of the Arsenal crew played Saturday’s game wearing black mourning bands in honor of Braddock.

– Steve devoted his life to ensuring that our grass was always beautiful, and for that we are eternally grateful, writes the club in an obituary.

They conclude:

– Our thoughts go out to Steve’s wife, daughters, sisters and all his friends and family.

Ødegaard also scored two goals in the victory that sent Arsenal to the top of the table.
