The Kjelsås runners took both first and second place in Saturday’s 10 kilometer freestyle during the Norwegian Cup at Nes, but the 02 monster from the five-mile in Holmenkollen last year was in a league of its own: Nora Sanness won with a margin of half a minute to club colleague Sofie Nordsveen Hustad.

Incidentally, Sanness was nicknamed the “02 monster” by her former coach Erik Bråten after she took a strong fifth place in the women’s very first World Cup five-mile race in Holmenkollen last year.
