On Tuesday, Bergvall visited Barcelona, and then practically everything seemed ready for a transfer to the Catalan club. On Friday, however, he had a medical test in Tottenham, and the transfer was confirmed the same evening.
The youngster has signed a contract until 2029 and will join the London team on 1 July.
To the Catalan radio channel RAC1, Barca president Joan Laporta admits that Tottenham gave the Swede a better financial deal.
– We have made an offer, we had everything ready with him and the club (Djurgården). Tottenham have offered much more money, says Laporta.
– Our offer was to let him play with the club’s B team and at the same time be in the A team squad, but we will not be able to match Tottenham’s bid, he continues.
