Girl (6) died after a traffic accident between a tractor and a scooter

It was Nikita Helena Wieczorek (6) who lost her life.

The Sør-West police district reports this in a press release on Thursday afternoon. The name is released in consultation with next of kin.

– A girl on a scooter was transported by air ambulance to Stavanger University Hospital, but unfortunately her life could not be saved, says police attorney Helene Bergesen.

The driver of the tractor, a boy under the age of 18, is charged in the case.

– This happens automatically in such a serious accident. He has also been temporarily deprived of his driving licence, says police attorney Helene Bergesen

The emergency services responded on Wednesday to a serious traffic accident at Pollestad in Klepp municipality between a tractor and a child on a scooter.

The police received a report at 19:15. At 20.00 it was reported that the girl was taken to hospital.

The police and the National Roads Administration’s accident team were at the scene of the accident last night. The police are starting the investigation, it is stated in the press release.

At the present time, it is too early to say anything about the cause of the accident, according to the police attorney.

The mayor of the relevant municipality describes the accident to Dagbladet as tragic.

– A much-loved child is suddenly gone. Both my thoughts and those of others go primarily to family and loved ones. This is painful.

He says large parts of the municipality are in mourning.

– Now we have to try to keep our heads cool, our hearts warm and be present for those who need us.

A municipal crisis team was contacted yesterday. The school of the deceased girl looks after her fellow pupils.

– Our thoughts also go to the poor young man who drove the tractor. This is something we all know and makes you think.
